N. Ireland
Comprised of six out of the nine original counties of Ulster, Northern Ireland was created in 1921 when the British government split Ireland into two separate territories.
Perhaps most famous is of course the RMS Titanic, which was launched from its dry dock in Belfast before heading to Southampton where it would later begin its ill-fated voyage.

You do not need a rental car as some places may suggest, as you can easily get around to the main sights by either bus or train.
Please keep in mind that although they are similar in name, there are huge differences between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. It is easy to visit both, but proper planning is needed to ensure you don't run into any trouble.

There are no visa requirements for US citizens visiting for tourism.
No vaccinations are required to enter Northern Ireland.
